Primicia wineries were born in a medieval building in Laguardia. The Madrid Castañeda brothers founded this winery in 1985, after a long family tradition of wine-making.
At the Vinexpo International Wine Challenge in Bordeaux, they were awarded the first prize, the Grand Prix D?honneur, for their Viña Diezmo 87 Reserva (Reserve): Spurred on by this success, Primicia wineries placed more emphasis on their cellar of new casks over the following years and has specilised in high quality wines since improving their installations.
