At
the beginning of last century, Benito Perez Villa, the grandfather of the
family that owns Bodegas Perez Irazu, founded this winery that has
been passed down through the generations. This charming winery is
located just outside of Elvillar in the direction of Kripán. The winery has
a practical setup with two winemaking areas that contain concrete tanks
as well as stainless steel tanks. There is also a cask cellar that has a
longstanding tradition of aging wines in an old underground cave. All
of its wine is produced using the traditional method of carbonic
maceration.
