SILVER MEDAL "TEMPRANILLOS DEL MUNDO" PARIS
2008
Red Crianza (Oak-aged) wine made from
grapes of 35 - 45 years old vines. Hand-picked grapes.
Fermentation in cylindrical stainless steel vats with a conical top and
capacity of 18,000 Kg at a controlled temperature of up to 30°C.
Destemmed grapes, without crushing, and the delestage method,
completely breaking up the cap. The wine must is pumped over the
cap daily during the 14 days it spends in the vats. Low pressure vertical
pressing. Aged during 18 months in oak casks, and 6 months in the
bottle.
Deep cherry red with ruby red tinges. Intense ripe black fruit
aromas, with spicy (cloves), balsamic, and vanilla hints. Fresh,
complex, and long lasting, with well marked varietal characteristics.
The fermentative aromas are very well combined with the aromas of
the ageing process. Ripe black grape aromas persist in harmony with
the noble tannin of the new oak. This wine has developed very nicely
with its time spent in the bottle.
