This wine cellar dates
back to 1898 when Jerónimo Martínez, started commercializing wines
made in the cellar of his house in Laguardia. It was under the
management of one of his daughters, Lucía, and her husband,
Gregorio Santamaría, that it became known by its current name. The
company underwent a real transformation during this time, with an
increase in the number of vines and premises...
The family
tradition was maintained by one of their sons, Angel, who passed on
his love of the world of wine and the wine cellar to his daughter, Gloria.
Bodegas Santamaría López has not stopped growing and has adapted
to modern times and, without losing sight of the development
experienced in the region, is currently working on an enotourism
project.
